Europa Road, part of growing global logistics operator Europa Worldwide Group, has announced exciting expansion plans. Two new sales branch sites are opening, bringing Europa’s European Road freight offering to a wider customer base.

These additional sites bring Europa’s total investment in increasing its European road freight sales network to three million pounds this year.  This forms part of Europa’s ambition to grow its geographical footprint throughout the UK and Ireland, bringing service closer to customers, and supporting local supply chain requirements.

The new sites, in Dublin (its first in Ireland) and Gatwick will open in January 2023 and take its local network in the UK and Ireland to 18, a 38 per cent increase in its network over the past year.

In the spring Europa Road successfully opened three new sales branches in Cambridge, Liverpool and Cardiff. The latest branch expansion will fill geographic gaps between existing sites, increasing the accessibility to all of Europa’s road freight services in and out of Europe offering full, part load and groupage shipments.

These new sites mean that within a 12-month period the firm will have opened five extra sales branch sites, enabling Europa to extend it services to meet growing customer demand for both import and export – specifically on its pan European daily services.  One of Europa Road’s key aims is to continue supporting UK businesses with tailored local customer service.

One of the key priorities is to bring its Europa Flow to more UK customers, this specialist delivery duty paid (DDP) offers post-Brexit delivery speeds to customers. Flow provides the ability to move goods seamlessly across Europe through up-front, anticipated goods declarations which reduces costs, paperwork, and border delays.

This latest expansion is part of Europa Road’s strategic growth plan announced by Adrian Redmile who has been in the role for 12 months. His aim is to grow the road freight division by 30 per cent and Adrian is expecting to have doubled the size of each sales branch by the end of 2023.

Adrian Redmile, Branch Network and Sales Director said: “As a business we are thrilled to be announcing that another two new sales branches are opening for Europa Road.

“Our approach to business is pivotal to our expansion plans and having branches in these two new areas will allow us to support even more local businesses. As a company we set out ambitious plans to outline how we were going to continue to grow and deliver our road freight infrastructure in 2022, and we have already exceeded our targets for this year.”

The new Gatwick sales branch will be situated just two miles from Gatwick Airport and Dublin branch will be located at Dublin Airport. Europa has identified market growth opportunities in both locations, having spent a substantial amount of time researching suitable sites. It has been reported that Dublin registering a year-on-year increase in consignment volumes for the first quarter of 2022.

Gatwick Airport has submitted plans that will increase its cargo volumes, which  are expected to reach 350,000 tonnes per year by 2047, from around 150,000 tonnes at present.

The last few years have seen major investment and growth for Europa, and Europa Road specifically has gone from strength to strength.  Volumes have continued to increase and since the launch of Europa Flow consignments have grown significantly.

Europa Worldwide Group is an ambitious independent logistics operator with three divisions, Europa Road, Europa Air & Sea, and Europa Warehouse, and has featured in The Sunday Times Top Track 250 for the third time. The Group employs over 1,300 people across the UK, Belgium, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Dubai and South Africa, and recently announced a record turnover of £316m for its last year up to the end of August 2022.
