Customers & Services
Xero & QuickBooks Online
If you already use Xero or QuickBooks Online (QBO), you do not need to recreate your Customers or Services in worxTMS.
Customers are managed in your accounting system. Once the integration is connected, worxTMS will automatically pull Customers from the accounting system when they are required.
Services come from the existing Items/Services in your accounting system. You do not create these Services again in worxTMS.
Your accounting system may contain many Items/Services that you do not want to use in worxTMS. On the Integration page in worxTMS, you select which of those existing Services you want to make available in worxTMS.
FrontAccounting
FrontAccounting is the free accounting system available through worxTMS.
If you do not already have an accounting system, FrontAccounting provides an option for managing your accounting information together with worxTMS.
With FrontAccounting, you can create and manage your Customers and Services in FrontAccounting. These can then be used by worxTMS through the integration.
This also allows businesses that need Customer accounts and Services to use an accounting system without having to subscribe to Xero or QuickBooks Online.
Using worxTMS Without Accounting Integration
Not every business needs an accounting integration. If you are using worxTMS for your own deliveries or internal transport, you can use the built-in default options instead.
worxTMS provides:
- House Account — the default Customer
- Default Vehicle
- Default Driver
- Default Service
These defaults allow you to use worxTMS without having to create Customers, Vehicles, Drivers or Services simply to get a shipment into the system.
In short: If you already use Xero or QBO, keep your Customers and Services there and connect the system to worxTMS. If you use FrontAccounting, manage your Customers and Services there. If you do not need accounting integration, you can use the worxTMS default Customer, Vehicle, Driver and Service.
